Young LGBTQ+ people have shown compassion and care to each other and themselves. We asked some queer teens what they say to celebrate and affirm their own and others' identities, and this is what they said:

Sara, she/her/hers, 17, LA — “It’s okay to be confused and it’s okay to think less of yourself because you don’t understand. However, there is an entire community of people ready to talk and guide you to who you want to be. It’s okay to have these thoughts, as long as you are continuing to grow who you are as a person. You don’t have to know who you are at any point in your life, you just have to make sure you are evolving into your best self.”

Mina, he/she/they, 19, HI — “You have all the time in the world to figure it out. You don’t need to label yourself, it’s not necessary. As long as you’re happy and comfortable with your body then who cares what anyone thinks.”

Sol, she/her/hers, 14, TX — “You being true to who you really are is the most important thing. Have a healthy mindset and it will help you through everything else. I love you and I’m here for you if you ever need anything”

Marco, he/him/they, 17, NC — there’s a reason why you are the way that you are. and when you don’t live that out, you’ll never find out why you are so special
